Cadillac Northstar 4.6…An Ugly Situation, but we have the technology…

Here we have some shots of the engine assembly sitting on a perch below it’s home in a 2002 Cadillac Deville. These particular engines, while being advanced technology, have a problem….the head gaskets FAIL! They always FAIL! All of them!
The fix is an aftermarket cylinder head stud kit…which securely holds the cylinder heads in place…with a purported 100,000 mile warranty.
This engine is another one of those seemingly brilliant ideas whose time has not come…
