Do you love cars? At Complete Automotive, we’ve got cars in our DNA. Most of us have either an aptitude for repairing cars that surprised us when we discovered it, or a love of cars and their form and function that drew us to pursue a career in automotive repair.

Right now, the automotive field is hungry for new blood. The national average age for a master mechanic is 52. As trades go, auto repair is recession-proof and in many locations, turned out to be pandemic-proof, too. There are many roles to be had in an automotive repair shop: 

Auto Technicians - the men and women who fix our cars are a special bunch. Some have ASE certifications when hired, and some begin as apprentices and learn their full ASE certifications under the tutelage of a master mechanic. 

Service Advisors - a service advisor is the customer’s first point of contact in the garage. They know cars well and ask the right questions for the auto technicians. They have great people skills cultivated over the years and they are good at guiding clients through unhappy moments (accidents, breakdowns, extensive repair crises). Many Service Advisors go on to run shops later. What we need are people who don’t shy away from sales and can connect with our clients. 

Apprentices - everyone’s got to start somewhere. Apprentices are paid trainee technicians. They take classes, do repairs under direct supervision, as they slowly learn the trade of auto repair. And there are Service Advisor trainees as well, who learn under supervision how to interact with clients and help them get the best care possible while guiding them through the hard parts.

Support Staff - every operation needs support staff. We have office workers for bookkeeping, drivers to shuttle customers around in our service van, and cleaning staff to keep us sparkling.

We hire people, not for our immediate needs, but to try to find long-term workers who respect what we do and want to be a part of it.
