When I bought my Mini I lived close to a Mini Dealer. When I moved to Springfield I had to find someone to work on my Mini without driving to St Louis of Kansas City. So I took it to an automotive repair shop and asked them if they had the expertise to work on the Mini and if they did I would keep coming back to them. They said they did and would take care of the car. So I took it in for an oil change without any issues and one day I had trouble starting the car and it didn’t have much power. I took the car into the shop and went home and searched on the internet to see if I could find any information on the problem. Within about 10 minutes I found that the likely problem was the high-pressure fuel pump and it was a warranty item. I called the shop and they told me they replaced the spark plugs and didn’t do any research. So I took it to another shop and had them change the oil. I picked it up and drove it home and checked the level. There wasn’t enough oil in the engine to show up on the dip stick. They look at it and told me they just hadn’t topped it off and it was only about a half quart low. There are two metal beads on the dip stick and I know from experience that if the oil level is at the first bead it is exactly one quart low. For it not to show I believe it was at least two quart low. So they lied to me. The next place I took my Mini to was Complete Automotive. I am extremely happy with the service!!
