Photo by Roberto Nickson on Unsplash As the year ends and we come to the holiday season, many of us will be traveling around or outside of Missouri. Hopefully, we’ll get a chance to reunite with loved ones we haven’t seen in some time and share the wonder of a wintery holiday together. Missouri winters are snowy and often icy; that can make for poor driving conditions. When planning travels during the holiday season, here are a few of the things we hope you’ll look out for: Look out for others - Beyond just watching out for bad traffic congestion, Missourians must look out for each other on the road. Extend aid when you can, and help others get where they are going safely. The more people that choose to adopt this a ... read more

Image by PublicDomainPictures from Pixabay So many businesses these days are based on business-to-business delivery and supply. Even small distribution chains need the attention of a mechanic who knows their make and model and can respond quickly to a breakdown or head-off engine issues with good preventative maintenance and due diligence. It can eat into your profits to lose one of your vehicles for hours or potentially for days in the immediate sense. But also think of the long-term, as your clients rate your reliability based on how often your service vehicles break down when they need them. Make no mistake: a chronic failure of your dependable vehicles is a business-killi ... read more

Photo by Jan Baborák on Unsplash September is here again, and that means the latest crop of new drivers is getting learner’s permits and learning how to drive a car safely. While the theoretical skills and knowledge of Driver Education are available for your student through the Springfield Public School System, there is no practical work, no cars to drive. When it comes time to teach your child the adult responsibility of operating an automobile, you will need a car and a safe space to teach your kid to drive that car. There are driving schools you can use. We strongly recommend each new driver take a defensive driving course, as it can lower their insurance costs a ... read more

Your car's cooling system has an essential job in ensuring that vital components of your car's engine doesn't overheat. As a result, it is imperative to top off your coolant to keep your engine cool. You also need to flush the radiator and fill it up with fresh and new coolant from time to time. What is Coolant? Coolant is a solution primarily made of antifreeze and water, and this liquid works by absorbing heat from the engine. Some of them also contain chemical properties that inhibit sedimentation and corrosion. However, the preventative properties wear off over time. At some point, you need to remove the coolant entirely as it becomes ineffective. How Often Should I Flush My Radiator? There is no standard interval for which you should flush your radiator. However, the owner's manual provides more details of when to flush it. If you do not have the manual, we recommend flushing the radiator every 80,000 miles. Newer vehicles may work ... read more

Photo by Paul Szewczyk on Unsplash Welcome to Complete Automotive’s May blog! We’re looking into how to beat the heat in Springfield this summer. The summer heat can brutally damage your car and can make you miserable as a driver. Left unchecked, the sunshine that makes for beautiful outside weather also scorches the air in your vehicle and absorbs it into the dashboard and interior. Like a hot plate, the heat refuses to go away just because you need to get in your car and get moving. With a little bit of foresight, shopping, and care, you can make your car a much cooler place in the summertime. There are three things you should address before July: Plan out your trips. When you need to go shopping, try t ... read more

Welcome to the April blog! This month, we’re thinking about the temptations of Spring and jealous hearts. We depend a great deal on our cars. This has been especially true in pandemic. Our little contained environments may not entirely shut out COVID-19, but they at least give us the confidence to operate in a stressful situation, making us feel safer. When our car lets us down, it can damage the trust we have in it. We’re only human, and sometimes, it’s easy to blame the decline of a car on the car itself. The irony of this is lost on us, as our vehicles are entirely dependent on us to care for them. It’s hard not to fall in love with a newer model when you’re angry with your current car. If you feel let-down and cheated, it’s easy to want to break from your current car and go for something newer, shinier, with better features and the factory warranty still intact. It’s important to remember that the day will come when time and tide ... read more
